Loy Krathong Festival will be on theevening of the full moon of the 12th month in the traditional Thai Lunar calendar, hence, this year is on November 21st – 23rd.
“Loy” is “to float” and “Krathong” normally means “a small container made of leaves which can be floated on water” This Krathong will be used to pay respect or thank the Goddess of Water, the Hindu Goddess Ganga, Phra Mae Khongkha.
